Now my wife has started my truck for me every morning when we go to the gym. She takes my gym bag, puts it in my truck and fires it up and heads for the gym. I'm usually right behind her. She was raised on a standard. She knows how to drive my truck. But this morning, things happened a little...
My sister texted me these pics yesterday. They are asking $12,500. When looking at the pictures, I noticed the GTX hood and thought "maybe has a 440".
Then I saw the Roadrunner Stripes and Decals and thought "what is this, maybe a 400"
Then I saw the emblem on the driver side door...
Finally got a kickdown rod after I dont know how many years! Looks much better, a lot less Redneck. Looks close. My old kickdown rod was...a rod! Thanks Dako!
Currently running a flex fan with maybe 2"spacer. Just got the Hayden 2747 clutch with 3618 fan. It looks like it might setup the same but want to make sure before installing.
The Car: 1971 B-body. Started life as RP23G. Currently has 383/727.
Not sure about the radiator core support, but it appears to accept a 26' radiator with no problems. Dont know what the difference is between the 22" and the 26" besides the obvious 4".
I have the car since 1985. It had the...
Description: 26", 3 core. Overflow tube exits top right of the cap. The weirdness are the six mounting studs for the fan shroud. I ordered this from my local parts store last year and it worked in a pinch. However, it is making fan shroud hunting difficult. The closest thing I could find...
My motor is stock so I set the initial timing at the recommened 2 1/2* BTC. I've read some of these posts where people are setting the initial timing at 15*-18*. My car does not seem to like that. Am I understanding properly what you guys are saying? With vacuum advance unplugged, car at idle...
I have the major issues outlined in the Ignition Electrical section. I was curious if the incorrect gas cap can cause the problems I'm having. I got a new cap, but I think it may be for a 72, which I think had an evaporative system while the 71 did not. I seen to build what I believe to be...
I'm on my phone so I'll try and keep this short. 70 model 383. New Mallory Unilite 4757701, coil, wires, ballast and power filter (goes between distributor and coil/ballast/ground connector). Distributor red wire to ballast left terminal (facing the engine) with single wire. Green, negative...
I have a 1971 RR Clone. Current setup is 383, probably close to stock build, 727 and a 2.76 rear 8-1/4. I have been have a Mallory Unilite, 3757701 and an Edlebrock 1406. Now, when I installed the new Edelbrock and took her for a spin, she ran great. Pulled past 5K RPM with no problems. I...
Ok heres the deal. My last year I pulled my 71 SSP/RR out of a 19 year hibernation. Got her all up and running. Due to some fuel system issues, I replaced the Carter AFB with an Edlebrock 1406 on Saturday. Car started as soon as the gas hit the carb, went into high-idle, sounded good, ran...
A buddy of mine found this listing on Craigslist. No motor, transmission or seats. All the glass appears to be there. Its hard to see any real details. I was thinking parts car for my 71 SSP/RR Clone (any trim that may be left, lenses, housings, bezels, dash, switches, etc.) I could also use the...
I found these pics while trying the research the 72 GTX-R. Yes they are all photoshopped. The site owner said he just wanted to "what if". We've all seen the VAN, which is pretty cool. Maybe some of you have seen the rest of the these but hadnt and thought I'd share. I really like the Pickup...
This is one part, so far, that I will not be able to get from my local parts store. I have a 71 SSP/RR Clone. Original 318 car, has had 383 since I've owned it (26yrs.). My newest radiator, purchased in April, has 6 studs that look to be for securing the fan shroud. I'm guessing that I can...
I've had my 71 Plymouth SSP/RR for about 26 years now. Every radiator I have ever installed has required some drilling in the flanges to make it match the bolt holes in the car. Of course, I do realize that I am ordering for a 71 RR/BB and my car was orgininally a 71 SSP/SB. How do I measure...
It was a great day for a 65 mile drive home. The Ram got a good workout. Got some strange looks and some thumbs up on the ride home. My buddy calls these kinds of pics "Hero Shots" cause whenever you see a car on a trailer its going somewhere to get some love and attention.
Here she is, after 19 years in hibernation! She's getting trailered home tomorrow due to the 20 plus year old tires and less than perfect brakes (all new, but need to be vacuum bled) and the 65 mile trip home. But she runs great, drives great (new steering gear). But it is pretty much just as...
Can anyone tell me what rearend is in the attached pictures? I found it on a 72 SSP/RR clone. Its doesnt look like what should be a stock 8 1/4". Its not an 8 3/4" but looks too small to be a Dana 60. Sorry for the poor angles but it was hard to get underneath the car.
