After a car show I was driving home in my 66 Satellite and my car suddenly died. I lost all power, it wouldn't turn over, no radio, it was dead in the water. After attempting to start it several times I called for a tow truck. While I was waiting a guy in a truck stopped behind me and turned on...
I went to a local car show today and received the following comments-
1. "Three or Four?" I answered, "3 or 4 what". He said "3 or 4?" I again asked, "3 or 4" what? He then said, "383 or 440". I answered, "It's a 440". He then said, "3 or 4 is a Mopar thing," he then walked away.
2. A guy...
Living in So Cal I've had a couple of yearly passes and enjoyed going 4-6 times a year. Lately during Covid many of the attractions have been closed or slowed down and prices have increased. Disneyland even shut down the tram that shuttles you from the parking structure to the park entrance...
I worked with his Dad, who passed away from cancer a couple of years ago. I'm sad for his Mom, losing a husband and then a son, I'm not sure how you recover from that. RIP
When I was about 12 my best friend an I were driving his Go-cart in an empty parking lot. We were having a great time driving laps around our imaginary race track. During my driving time I was driving my lap when is saw my friend throw a chunk of broken concrete about the size of my head at me...
When I was a patrol trainee with the Sheriff's Department my training officer placed his notebook with all my trainee paperwork and copies of reports I had written on the roof of our patrol car when we left the station. As soon as we entered the main intersection across from the station the...
There was a show a couple of years ago with Jerry Connelly and Jim Belushi that was filmed in Las Vegas. They drove around in a 66 Satellite convertible. I was pretty excited about the Las Vegas location and the use of a 66 Satty. The show didn't last past one season and the car didn't last very...
Went to Classic Industries yesterday and picked up the trunk floor, it turns out it was made by AMD. I'm not sure why they don't advertise that it's made by AMD, it would solve a few questions.
I think I figured it out. The description of the trunk floor in the Classic Industries catalog says "Mopar Authentic Restoration/Restorers Choice" but when you type in the order number on the order page the description comes up as "AMD". Not sure why the description on the catalog page doesn't...
Just had my car blasted and the trunk floor will need to be replaced. I looked in the Classic Industry catalog and found they sell "Mopar Authentic Restoration/Restorers Choice" trunk floors. I live near their store and it would be easy to pick up the floor at the store. The floor is about...
I was at a Mopar show with other Mopar guys, one of them looked at my 66 Satellite and said, nice car too bad it's not a 67 GTX. I guess it never occurred to him that I might have bought the 66 because I liked it more than a 67 or any other car. As the saying goes, opinions are like ********...
I went to 3 Jimi Hendrix concerts as a teenager, great music and great showmanship. We then went home and tried to duplicate his music with our garage band, good times and great music.
You're not alone, I did the same thing with my 66 Satellite in high school. I ended up cutting the handles of the window cranks, I used them as spacers behind another set of handles so I could roll down the windows.
I enjoyed seeing your car being worked on and I loved the finished product. The best part of the show was your joy and enthusiasm when you saw the car and while you drove it. Like Dan said, drive it like you stole it.
The majority of people in California just passed a ridiculous law that prohibits plastic bag use in grocery stores. We now have to pay for paper bags or buy reusable bags to pack our groceries in. My local grocery store will only bag your groceries if you use the reusable purchased bags, if you...
The Cucamonga service station pictured is still standing and being refurbished to become a Route 66 museum on Foothill Blvd (old rt. 66) and Archibald in Rancho Cucamonga. The front building is all that is standing, the rear service bay area was demolished after the roof caved in. I've they...
I had a similar experience when I e-mailed AMD regarding quarter panels for my 66 Satty...basically they told me tough luck. They went on to say there's not enough demand for 66-67 b-bodies. For more comments from FBBO members check my thread "Survey 66-67 Belvedere, Satellite, GTX Quarter...
When I started college, my Dad suggested that I get a more economical car. I was driving a 66 Plymouth Satellite that I foolishly traded in for a Ford Pinto. This was one of my dumber moves in life and I still regret doing it. About 40 years later after I retired I bought myself another 66...
I've been at car shows with my 66 Satellite convertible and have Chevy and Ford guys pass by without looking at the car as if it's invisible, that's ok to each his own. But what bothers me is when a Mopar guy comes over and starts telling me what's wrong with the car. This guy was some office...
