amm... what does a residual pressure valve do, and where is it? Back when restoring the car I just bought a master cylinder for a 1968 Charger; it fit so it went on the car... no need to scold me on my ignorance, already done that :)
I am meaning to do a whole brake upgrade over the winter, and will of course get the correct master cylinder. BTW, I've been long asking myself, why is it important to have the correct one? I mean, it's just a tank that holds liquid to be delivered where it needs to go, right? What can happen if...
So here I am after a crappy day at work, taking the Charger out for a drive through the hills & forests around the city to vent. Some time after I started driving hard, I saw the Brake light flashing when upshifting from 1st to 2nd @ 6k rpm. Then, I saw it coming on and staying on when I was...
Thanks for the tips:
The bilts holding the bracket to the spindle are OK. Also, the kit I bought had the clips pre bent so that when they are bolted down, they are under tension.
So far, took the clips out, put it back on, and strangely it doesn't rattle anymore.
Please give me a clue...
My right front wheel is rattling when hitting imperfections in the road.
I put in the PST rubber front end kit, new torsion bars, new qa1 DA shocks, new UCAs, rebuilt LCAs with PST kit, but still when riding over bumps, it rattles like the caliper is not bolted into...
I need help with my front suspension which is rattling like hell. The bits I encircled in red broke, and the caliper rattles on every bump. could someone please tell me what are they called, and where I can get them without buying a whole brake kit? Car is a 1968 Charger which had the 4 piston...
Thank you for all the replies!
At first I thought there is no way a torsion bar can wear out, I mean you just twist the adaptor, and you compensate for the "sagging". But then again I saw many posts on the contrary, and one symptom was bottoming out. I am lowered, but still, I do not corner...
AS I understand, the R/T came with .94 torsion bars from the factory. Mine are worn out (ruined 2 shocks & 2 bump stops by bottoming out at an incline), and would like replacing them.
I would like the new torsion bars to be good at launching the car, so that means a smaller diameter - I have...
I have power steering, and intend to keep it. For the brakes I ak considering going to manual, but that's another story...
I also have a new set of bilsteins, and PST stamped steel UCAs. I don't want to go tubular, the car is #s matching, and was restored with concours readiness in mind. The...
I made a mistake when rebuilding the suspension, in reusing the old torsion bars & leafs. Thought the car looked cooler standing lower, but little did I know...
I am thinking of starting from scratch, and rebuilding the suspension. My 3 goals are a) good 60ft in tbe 1/4, b) comfortable ride...
