Interested to find out what to do on a non-vinyl roof car as well with this gap. As I'm fitting my trim as I work on the body, the gap behind the curved piece was a "holy crap - what did I screw up here" moment. Does anyone have a pic of a non-vinyl roof car all finished or an original...
Thanks for all the advice and help! Are the 2 part seam sealers stiffer? Thinking the sponginess is a big part of the issue. I used SEM 29382. Or do I have it too thick? PPG DP90 is an epoxy so don't understand why it doesn't stick. Thanks
Hi All, Hoping someone can help. was sanding out the evercoat finish sand primer on the car yesterday and noted that the pain had chipped off the bottom of the seam sealer at the drip rail. Pushing on it elsewhere in the drip rail channel it kept cracking and popping off. I used SEM single...
Noticing the primer on the vinyl sleeve covers on the wire body wire holder that came on the panels from AMD is cracking and falling off. Looking at the original ones it appears to be a liquid coating on the holders that is more flexible and the paint is not cracking . What do you do with the...

Hi All. I went to talk to the body shop who I had talked to years ago about getting my car painted in the near future. He said that is unable to do that kind of work at any time in the future unless he can find more help. He is down 2 techs and lost his rust restoration guy to retirement...
This thread is helpful. What about the sealant or whatever goes on / in the nuts that hold on the extensions? Looks like a glob of it filled the nut before it was installed and it then sealed the hole the stud goes through?
Only having an engine crane, I had to get creative. So I would lift up the rear and put it on saw horses with a 4x4 across to hold it up, and then used the engine crane to lift front. Roll the jig in and out. I would now use a bigger piece of wood than the 4x4. Maybe several 2x8 nailed together?
