I may just have to find steel sleeves at the hardware store and cut to length to fit the lower CA. I'll give the "cust support" line at speedway motors another shot on monday, see if someone answers the phone. :cursin:
I could open up the bushing that is in the new shock, if needed. I don't have old shocks from the car, there weren't any installed when I got the car. I'm hoping to find a hardware kit with new bushings and a new sleeve, if possible.
Picked up a set of Lakewood 90/10 front shocks for my 66 coronet, ordered them from one of the online speed stores. The ad showed an open/empty eye ring for the lower mount but were also advertised to work with GM, and Ford, as well as MOPAR. They showed up with a rubber bushing and a pin/bar...
Did you put the hood scoop on your car? And, is that a factory scoop? I think it would look pretty good on my 66 coronet that I'm putting together. Beautiful car!
Question for the racing guru's. Putting a 66 coronet together for the 1/4" mile track only. The car was a 318 car, and now has a 400 in it. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to running the original T-bars versus installing a heavier set? The car is just a weekend fun at the track type...
Crap! I didn't think about that. Wonder if I can arc/bow a piece of sheet metal the same as the PS window and heat the lexan until its lays down. Guess I'll find out...
Getting ready to install the fuel system on my 66 cornet. 10 gal fuel cell in the trunk, cradled in the spare wheel well, fuel line through a grommetted hole to an elec. pump, to a filter, to the regulator up front. My question is for the pump and the filter, they will be mounted in the rear...
Curious what size batt would you put in the trunk of a 66 coronet, that is going to run at the 1/4 (1/8) mile track only. Running a +.030 over bore 400 with 10.5:1CR, and a Hyd roller cam (comp cams XR292HR-10). Running an alternator so the batt doesn't have to do all the work. Just finished...
What is the reason for running the positive cable to the drivers side of the firewall? I'm getting ready to run a similar set up in my coronet, so I'm want to do it right the first time. Awesome pics! Thanks.
