Just got "The Belvedere" back from Oregon last week. Son drove much of the way until the alternator died in kentucky and since that was tornado day last week we just had it towed back nbecause I didnt want any chance of further electrical probs with tornadoes going on. The picts below are from the trip. This car is amazing! No rust ever, and it handled the mountains like they were flatlands. Good on gas too! Avg'd 16 mpg at 75 mph midwest speed limits, 19.5 at 55 mph! My son lucked and got a good compromise to seling his slant six for a v-8 w/out losing too much gas savings!
Since buying this we got carpet in, nice reproduction molded set and the back seats have been redone. Son installed headliner, attempted to cut and sew a new one from the old one as pattern and it came out very wrinkled. Hoping it will shrink tighter, but I think it was the stitching. Found very nice vintage visors in correct color. Needs exhaust leak fixed and paint and should be good for another 50 yrs. Hopefully my son finishes it this summer.
