Brad's 1971 GTX

Nothin' special and never enough room for all the stuff!

About this Mopar:

I'd been out of the Mopar family for far too long. I've owned a lot of them, C/Y-bodies mostly over the past 25 years. Last time I owned a B-body was during my time in the Air Force, lastly owning a 74 RR (400, 4-spd). I've also owned a 69 GTX, 69 Super Bee, 69 RR, and my first car, a gorgeous bronze metallic 69 Charger. I'm a car-oholic and have been with the same insurance company for 40 years. They have my prior vehicle count at close to 60. Granted, a couple of those were my daughter's or my (ex) wife's... but mostly my toys. I'd never been rich enough to keep one and buy another, nor would I have had a place to keep them all, so I just flipped from one to another. Sad but true. Fast forward to this year... I'm in a much better position financially (Amen) and being stuck at home like everyone else, I decided it was time to look for a project. I found several I was interested in, a Challenger in GA, a Cuda' on the other side of Birmingham, an Imperial Coupe in SC, a Coronet in Charlotte.... but they were all either too far from me, or upside down on the "Only $40K from being a $20K car" scale... My garage is poorly outfitted - no lift and full of boxes from the divorce/move... So, finding none I wanted to tackle or that seemed like a manageable restoration, I went with "Already Restored." It neatly fit between the "needs new floors" and "restored 440+6, 4 spd" price points, and I'd saved some money.... time to jump. I hope y'all enjoy the pure artistry of the fuselage-era killer B. My new to me, 1971 Plymouth GTX. Thanks, Brad

Beautiful car! I really wanted to go see that one in Sherman too. That company has a blue Camaro Z8 that I was interested in. In fact it's in your picture. How was dealing with them overall?

Hey. Thanks. Actually it was pretty painless. They are delivering the car on Saturday. I had some cash to put down and worked with my bank I've had for years.... financing through the company that owns the dealership might be different, but It was said and done with 3 phone calls and about 10 texts... painless. I looked at a Vit-C Orange RR in FL for 3/4 the price of this one that would have needed a lot of work to make up the difference. I'm glad I held out.

Nice ride. Had one when I was 17. Had the 383 w/ 4speed . We got pulled over so many times. But lets not go there, Court Ordered ,,,

Very nice find, especially when you are looking for a car ready to show and drive. I like the color and vinyly top with the pinstripe. Good luck with her.

That is a super clean GTX, really like it's lines. Thanks for
putting another Mopar back on the road. Mike.

Looks really nice good find. Trying to find one in the budget dose get testy. But over all look's like you should be a happy camper.

Nice find. Colors and options are nearly identical to the '70 GTX that was my daily driver back in the day. Good to see you made it back to the fold.
