1968 Plymouth Road Runner ( tribute )

This is a recent purchase I'm still tweaking……. good solid car with a great running 440

About this Mopar:

While I know a lot of hobbyists don't care for the tribute cars - I find they are great drivers and you can have a lot of fun with them and not have the price of a vacation home invested . This particular car was done quite well both cosmetically and mechanically. It has had the sway bars added front and rear, the larger radiator for the 440 and appropriate trim where necessary. They also added power front discs which is a real plus. The car was a Sport Satellite originally and hailed from California - so the body is in really great shape. It's a 440 with an automatic. I have replaced both bumpers, some faded emblems and cleaned up the engine and chassis a bit - but otherwise it's just as I bought it.

Absolutely wonderful work done on that car. She's a beauty.
Regarding the whole "clone/tribute" thing, I'll readily admit I'm a purist in that regard.
A lot of my fascination with any older car is the heritage and history of each - their "stories", as it were.
I never understood why someone would go to all the trouble of trying to "fake" a car, then go about having to explain all the time that it is a "tribute".
There's not a darn thing wrong with letting this beautiful, proud car be what it is - a Sport Satellite.
If it were mine, all the RR decals would come off and nicely restored Sport Satellite emblems would go on. :)

I keep looking at that beautiful car, very nice ride! Enjoy Retirement!
Thanks for the kind words. My first new car was a 1968 Dodge Coronet 440 two door hardtop and I have always loved this body style and Mopars in general. I had another yellow tribute car that I sold in order to buy this one. A friend of mine had wanted me to sell the previous car to him ever since I bought it and when this car showed up on eBay he got his wish !!! This is a really solid automobile that has been well taken care of. I'm very happy with it !!!!!

Nice job on the clean up Dave! Looks great! So glad it found a good home.
I took care of the lower quarters and just did a few little things here and there. Thanks again for your honesty and being a great individual to do business with !!!! It's a really great car !!!!

Nice machine, clean and looks great. I would love to drive that too.

WoW! I dig it ~ looks fantastic! Whole point of owning cool old iron is your personal enjoyment! I don't care about tribute, clone labels.... Your car, your money, nice!
I got grief from the car guys when I painted a 2003 Liberty a color not original- crazy!
