Very Kool ! A bit of similarity..
My screen name is from my original 71 curious yellow 340 duster. Also a 4 speed 3.90s
...mine is a work in progress. My wife would would love me to paint a car plum crazy.. she loves the color! IT is a great color.

Those are some pretty neat things in common right there man. My dad and I restored a ‘70 Duster 340 back in the early 90’s. That was when I fell in love with not only that car, but also that color. ‘70 & ‘71 are by far my favorite year for the Duster. The bezel-less, recessed tail lights really do it for me.
Using the name “PlymCrazy” I felt was a unique play on words. Although the name hints at the color, it really just expresses that I favor Plymouths in the Mopar family. It allows me to use that name on both FABO and FBBO since I own both A & B body Plymouths.
And I’m sure some folks would bust my chops around here for using the name “PlumCrazy” when it’s technically a Dodge name for the color. Besides, I now see there is fella on the site with the name “PlumCrazy”.

Our Duster was what got us into mopars...it was at a neighbors farm and I had never seen a car with the 340 stripes, black hood with the 340 call out, and such a unique yellow..I just turned 51... the 340 duster was a birthday gift from my Dad when I was 17 in 89! He bought it from the neighbor as a surprise. The duster was very rough and we(duster was a gift to me and my twin brother) took it completely apart. We got the 340 redone and driving and the quarters put on, and unfortunately the car has sat, needs body work although door jams and engine bay is painted. I started working on it last year again. But we have a BUNCH of projects. Thankfully I still have my Dad but he is busy with his own projects, and at a age where projects are slow. Dad's first car was a 62 impala but a 4 door. My brother and I bought him a red 62 impala 2 door 4 speed as a Christmas gift in 1987! He worked on it some over the years...but We are trying to get it going for him. I bought him a dual quad intake last week and a 409 about two years ago...my brother and I are on a mission to get it going.

409 w/dual quads? That sounds like a blast. And you’ve had the Duster since 17yo? That’s amazing man. I was about 16/17 when I fell in love with a Duster 340. It would be many years later before I’d own one myself.

When I was 17 we ended up with two 340 dusters. The curious yellow 4 speed and a amber Sherwood green automatic(car is rough). Speaking of forum names.. I probably should have used citronyellow69 instead of curiousyellow71. The 69 charger we bought when I was 15. We couldn't decide what color to paint the charger so Dad came home with a gallon of curious yellow/Citron yellow and told us this is what we were painting it.Lol
It was the second car my brother and I had painted by the age of 15.

Beautiful Car! Anyone would be "PlumCrazy" not to like it. Best of luck with it. I recall a story, way back when, about a Pro Stock Duster that supposedly was built by Sox & Martin for another racer named Carmen Rotunda. Legend has it that while Carmen was trailering the car, he happened upon Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins and challenged him to a match race on route 287 in northern NJ. According to a couple people I knew who said they witnessed it, The Duster blew "Grumpies Toy" away! This may be a BS story, but this was about 50 years ago.

Sweet! was gonna paint my duster plum back when I restored it, even had the paint, then decided to keep it numbers matching...
