1963 Polara door adjustment?

I have to slam the drivers door on my 1963 Polara several times to get it to larch and close completely. The passenger door is fine. All gaps are perfect and I don't believe it is a hinge adjustment issue. If it is the latch mechanism, how is it adjusted?

Sounds like your striker is set in too deep!Loosen the bolts slightly,Not loose.close door easy,keep moving striker a little until it latches smoothly. it's difficult to explain how to adjust it it's trial and error!
