My car has a three wire neutral safety switch. The wires have been cut.

One white, one brown (middle), one purple.

Can any one help as to where each wire goes to?

Thanks for any help.

Been a while, but working from memory, the pushbutton trans would only have a single threaded stud for a ring connector. Does you car have a newer (66 & later) trans?

I imagine it does have a newer transmission.
The car came with a 225 6 cyl when new. The guy I bought it from installed the current configuration of 540 cu in and 727 for the strip.
Thanks

Outer two are for reverse light circuit, center lead is for neutral safety lead, goes to the starter relay. I dont think your car needs the reverse circuit, so just leave them cut. The center gives the starter relay ground in N and P and lets the car start. Hook that baby up.

Done deal, no back up lights anyway.

Thanks to all for the help.

Cheers
