In the FSM it’s pointed out that the manual valve in these trannys is different from console shift to push button shift. There’s an extra ‘land’ on the console one. Any idea why? Don’t both just have a single position for each gear? Anyone ever used the ‘wrong one’?

I have a spare tranny, same year, same engine, but PB. I’d like to rebuild it for a future swap but don’t know if I need to address this difference or not.

The 64 console is the same as a 65. Uses a different rooster comb, manual valve and neutral safety switch. I have extra valves and rooster combs.

Do you have any extra 64 console neutral safety switches.
