After rebuilding the heater box and getting the dash stuff sorted out with a Charger Specialties circuit board we started to get the interior back in shape. I also replaced the hacked up cluster, swpped out the incorrect '67 model steering column and added the sport grain wheel to get attention from the ladies lol.

I am still on the fence about painting this car. There will be some areas that will be difficult to repair and I hate to pull a car that drives this nice apart. You know the old "will it ever see the street again" feeling? I'm trying to avoid that with this car. I was reminded a while back that "I'm just going to get it yard drivable" and apparently that means North America is my yard? This baby is ready for an epic vacation in the Southwest!

Don't get me started on the Sweptline stuff! Currently working on welding in the new floor pans from exline on that white '65 W100. It has a 408 with a roller cam and 4.88's!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I drove it today and it's very different from what I am used to. With the stock 383-4 and factory style exhaust it's so quiet and smooth. No 3" exhaust and sticky tires for the Clark Kent-mobile.

I got on it going around a corner and it down shifted into 1st just killing that little 14" tire. People are staring at my antics and I'm looking back thinking what the hell do you want from me it's a peg leg as we leave a billowing cloud o tire smoke at the entrance of the parkway. It even made a good scratch shifting into 2nd. Juvenile fun I tell you! It reminds of a the typical used car from the early to mid 90's before everything went crazy.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to put my spare 511 ( 400 w/ 4.25" crank) in it with some Stealth heads and a hydraulic roller cam. It could be my greatest, most uncontrollable daily driver yet.

Fantastic find, I love it.
Reminds me of my wagon, faded but solid.
I am keeping the patina, I have installed a full Firm Feel suspension, 12" cop brakes, factory dual exhaust and i love it.

Well, I'm back with a few updates. Over the summer I had a buddy of mine paint the horizontal surfaces of the car to keep it from rusting. During this process he repaired the cowl, replaced the hood/driver fender and straightened a few things that were slightly out of shape from it's run in with a ditch at some point in the past. We elected to the front and rear glass/gaskets and polish the trim which is in progress now.

It's still going to be my all-weather driver once we get it put back together. Long term plans include a single turbo to help with the gas mileage.

On the subject of painting the rest of the car...maybe some day. My driveway is a 1.5 miles long gravel road so having anything with a nice paint job is just painful. I am able to drive this car year round because they don't salt the roads out here. My other hurdle is figuring out where to find the clips that hold the side and deck lid trim on. Once I get that done maybe it will get finished in a few years.

And in closing, that minivan is making me feel much better about moving out of the salt belt.
