1966 Plymouth Satellite HP2

Were the boots not standard on the Satellite? If so, I wonder why anyone removed them on such a low mileage car?

Wayne if you ever want to cure that bit of seat cover looseness I pretty much remedied the same think on mine by putting a layer of 1/2” seat foam under the upholstery and hog ringing it back down. Did both seats.

Ya, I'll get to the seat someday. The burlap is falling out below it.

Your boot looks different than what I just put in...

My 68 Sport Satellite (build date 8/28/67) has the 1967 retractors with no boots. They're a PIA and the lower black paint on the inside of the door is all chipped up from the belt being released.

Put in the later style seat belt detractors and put those in a box on the shelf marked as original parts to that car.

Makes me wonder,
Are / were the seat belt covers optional?

Per the IBM card mine is supposed to have the retractors FT and Rear
But only assumed the ft covers were standard

Thanks Bill for the shots. Looks like Charlie sold me the same covers, in Black, but maybe I installed them backwards. I have the "tang" opening out, maybe I need to re and re again with them in.

Our 66-67 Chargers have the retractors for the front with the boots. Non had them in the rear.

There are 2 styles - the ones like you have and another where the winder cup opening is angled instead of straight out like yours and Bills. I forget which is supposed to be for what. I sent mine off to the fella on here that used to do a lot of business restoring seat belts. But he may have not even sent back the same ones I sent in. I know he changed the buckle type on me. My 67 also has the angled bucket but again they were restored by SnakeOyle years ago and I’m not sure if what they sent back is correct either.

Keep in mind my car has been restored
Im told the covers are thought to be original to the car
But the orientation is / was a guess

I remember those issues well from my '67 Valiant, which I drove for 11 years. The covers are a huge improvement.

Thanks! Mine's a Lynch Road car built Dec 13th, 1965.

??? where the boot/belt bolts in to the car, is it just a hole in the boot or the V shaped wedge cut out for belt install showing?

That’s how mine are set up too, with the tongue wound to the inside towards the seat. It’s not foolproof if someone lets a seat belt end fly but otherwise it works well to keep them from hitting the doors.
