1967 GTX White w/ red interior

Okay back to the X. I just came in from a full day from working on the X. I cleaned up the drivers door. I used a 3M fiber wheel on a Harbor Frieght buffer / sander. Below is what the door looked like with the surface rust. I also included a picture of the 3M wheel and the buffer. Then the finished outside of the door pretty much done.

After getting outside of the door looking decent, I flipped the door over to work on the inside. Here's what I started with.

And then a couple of hours later, after using the 7" 3M pad and a 3" on my die grinder and some 80 grit sandpaper.

Then I started shooting the panels in epoxy. I had to reshoot my other panels since I was out of the 7 day recoat window.

Hopefully tomorrow I can get all of this stuff in 2K primer and maybe get the roof of the X in epoxy. It will probably be the last painting I get to do outside this year (70 degrees today)

Guys, sorry it's been so long, between the plumbing problems I've had under the house, holidays and helping my brother with his '67 Belvedere powered by a 588ci all aluminum HEMI that makes over 1000 hp on 92 pump gas, I have not been able to get on here to post. I have been working on the X a little over this time and here are some of the highlights.

This picture is of the USC all metal that I used to fill the low spot after I welded in the panel to replace the rust in the lower fender.

This one is of the hood after I put 2K on it and blocked it down, it looks pretty good. There is still a tiny low spot in the leading edge on the passenger side, but that will have to wait until it gets a little warmer outside.

I marked where all of the spot welds were so I could drill them out with the cutter.

A "few" spot welds later and the panel is removed.

Then I just set the new inner fender in to see how it looks.

Sorry, it's been so long, I've just been busy, went on vacation for a couple of weeks, working on the X, helping my brother on his '67 Belvedere and I bought another car (It's an A body you guys probably don't want to hear about it).

Here is the passenger inner fender welded in.

Then I went on to the drivers side.

Then I rolled it outside for the first time in almost a year.

I've said it before and I'll say it again "damn do I love that body style". Congrats on the progress, looking really good and it looks like your getting the rust all cleaned up. Car looks to be in really good shape and your repairs sure are coming along pretty good "very nice"

Thanks 747, I wish the car was in good shape, The CA quarters are just laying on the car. I need to post some pictures of the rollers for the front I made, they are patterned after my brothers Alterkation K member, just made out of 2" box tubing and 2" angle iron. Add some Harbor Freight wheels and we're good.

How is the weather over there, here in IN we have about 8" of snow on the ground, still snowing.

Pretty much melted today but is supposed to start again tonight and get super cold by tomorrow. If it really isn't in good shape you must be doing something right because it looks good.

It had really bad quarters, extentions and outer wheel houses, but the CA car had everything I needed. Only the roof does not have rust.
