Ok guys and girls. Here I have a factory 68-69 4bbl intake (casting # 2806301). Here is my issue, while dry fitting a Carter AVS to this intake, I noticed that there doesn't seem to be enough clearance for the factory choke stove. The (choke side) of the Carter appears to sit and cover the front bolt hole for the choke stove. What am I missing here? Do I need a spacer? I thought you could get an AVS on a 68-69? Thanks for any info. Rob

Agreed on the gasket 493 Mike...I was just test fitting

Choke is almost flat and it has to be bolted down before the carb is installed.

If I'm not mistaken, only one bolt holds the choke in the choke stove. The other end of the choke just has a tab that sticks in the hole. So interference won't be a problem.

The correct 4bbl choke stove for 68-69 has a completely flat mounting plate, no rise to it at all.

Your carb and intake will fit over the choke using the thin base gasket.
