Hi I have a quick question. Im putting rear disc brake on my 68 charger and I was just wondering what is this ring thing with teeth on it. Do I need it??

That’s how you adjust the end play on the axle shafts. There should be a lock retainer underneath one of the retaining nuts to hold the adjuster in place.
