Question to ask guys.
Do you think I could build a complete 68 Dodge Charger from scratch using AMD panels with some kind of a jig. Chargers becoming way too expensive nowadays so I was thinking of buying a rusted out charger and buy it strictly for the numbers only that way I can get one cheap ?

You’ll have to remove the word

CHEAP…… from your vocabulary first …

Why don’t you just repanel a Crown Vic

Like the General Lee Jumpers do ?!?!?!

IMO if you can find a solid 2 or 4 door cornet that would be the way to go. Would get you a good base to start with. Roof structure on the 4 door would be different for sure but not sure how different the 2 door roof structure is. Good luck.

The charger sail panel/c panel is longer then any b body. I guess if AMD has the inner metal that could work. I would rather save and wait to find one. They are out there.

Keep looking, they’re out there.

If you think from scratch is going to be less expensive you had better guess again.

US Car Tool had a complete Charger body built with AMD parts on display at Carlisle this past July. It is a joint venture between US Car Tool and AMD. The price for the complete assembled second generation Charger was $34,995.

Built totally from scratch without a donor part - it will need an entirely new VIN and registration process......like a new build.

Start with a donor and do the replacements will be easier.

Spend some free time reading through this. Don has incredible determination and skill, especially considering what many would consider an uphill battle with the body he started with.

The roof is 3” higher on the 4 door. I used to think the windshield interchanged with the 2 door. It’s taller as is the vent wing.
