You guys are miss reading his post. He said AIR CONDITION/HEATER box. That’s a horse of a different color. I had a friend send one off long ago and was charged over $1000. It leaked when it was installed. He has never had it working. I do all my on work so when I bought my 70, I jumped in with both feet. I spend 40 hours restoring and testing it. I had the evaporator core pressure tested and cleaned at the local radiator shop. I bought the new heater core from old air products. It’s made differently from copper coils and aluminum fins. It should last a lifetime. I installed a new water valve ( the H valve from them as well). I bought an NOS temp control valve( the one that is on the firewall from eBay) and the rebuild kit from DMT. It has good instructions. It is very time consuming and expensive to do this but after rebuilding my complete system, it works better than any aftermarket add on AC you could buy.
I rebuilt the next box for a customer and got faster. It took 32 hours! Lol. All I have left on his system is the temp valve on the firewall. My plan is to buy an repop 70 model from eBay, replate a portion of 69 and combine the two for a new valve.
I just bought a 69 Charger project car with a partner. It has ac. If I fix it, he will be compensating me on the labor to rebuild it. It won’t be cheap.
Ok. I posted this and looked back at who posted his new rebuilt heater box! Hello Brad.. I recognize the car in the background and those big feet in the one picture! That must be Jerry’s with his hand on the heater box or your other buddy that lives close by.
