Hello,
So I picked up my 68 Charger from my father this past weekend. He has owned this car and had guys working on it on and off for about 10 years. I am taking the project over now that he has just gotten tired of tracking people down to work on the car and investing money. I have never taken on a project like the before so the will be a large learning curve for me. I am currently in the process of just cleaning everything up and creating and inventory list to figure out what I have and don't have. Below are the items that I know I have now. I am open to any advise or contact that may be able to help me out in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
- The body is all new panels except for the top. (Quarter panels, fenders, and doors.)
- 383 Engine - Rebuilt about 10 years ago. (this has been stored in doors, but there have not been any plugs or carburetor in it) I am guessing I will need someone to go back through it.
- 727 Transmission - Rebuilt about 10 years ago.
- Brand new disc brakes all around.
- 2 Grills fully assembled. 1 is in pretty good shape and the other will be used for parts.
- All new interior. (Carpet, Seat covers and foam, door panels)
- Dash/Instrument Panel - This will need some pretty serious work.
- Original AC unit - I will plan to replace with a new unit.
- Wire harness for the 383, but I assume I will need to get a new one.
- All stainless trim - It needs some polish but looks pretty good.
- All glass
I have added a couple of pictures. Like I said before I am new at this and any advice would be appreciated. I am going to start with buying a bolt kit and replace everything that is currently on the car.
