Hey I’m new I got excited and thought about wanting some attention for something thats quite spectacular that I found on craigslist.. and I really don’t know how rare this is to see for 68 383s and 727s.. teammates(727 2892093 and 383hp numbers matching)still together that hasn’t been in any car in 18 years supposedly... with seems as far as I can tell factory bolts and configurations....it even has the factory nylon gear which was silent timing technology produce and was supposedly the Achilles heel to Mopar’s engines they say. casting date 6/21 383hp and 6/27 for the 727. the motor is now at the machine shop getting reconditioned. And all the bolts for motor are soaking in solution to be reused. The transmission won’t be gone through until the motor is completed.

the vin is 8A342936 I believe.

The casting dates suggest that went into a '69 model year vehicle, but I can't see your pics.

The pictures are fixed now. I just learned last night it’s ..for b bodies.. so I can’t show the 70 challenger or talk about a challenger in postings I think because it’s not for e bodies haha. then my phone died. It’s back up now. Thanks for reply too.

I'm not trying to harass you, or run you off from this fine site, but why did you join FBBO when you have an E body? Are there any particular B Bodies that you are interested in owning? What's the plan for your '70 Challenger?

Lots of great, knowledgeable car folks here.

A 1968 or 1969 roadrunner is what my dream is. My dad and I have a 1968 roadrunner engine but it’s still held up in the shop because they’re having problems. I want to get my dad a 1969 roadrunner but a 68 for this motor.

We do have a 1979 Córdoba but the engine is cracked and before we understood the market we sold a lot of parts of it stupidest thing we did. Mopar’s have been a long fascination of mine since 2012. I was on Craigslist in 2012 got so much information on em and I asked dad let’s buy a project but he never had the money back then. I got out of information on cars for along time and lost a lot of mental knowledge of em and just started back into Mopar’s in June

Thank you! It’s looking better and better. I’m going to sleep I’m embarrassing myself so goodnight and taking a break from social media like what I said I’d do before. I talked dad into it. Goodnight everyone. And no more ideal shows when I come back I will be listening to other people posts.. my bad.

We got the 383 back it had to be sleeved. It’s not been hot tanked either. We got the heads back too but they wasn’t completed. We have to send it off again.

383 back in the shop. What happened was was a long story they was moving to a new facility and it got put off for about a year. We was patient because we didn’t plan on building it until the car body is done. We purchased the motor amd transmission for 750 dollars so it’s not that big of a deal it being sleeved to me and it’s perfect for the challenger because I guess a 383 was originally in it.

Nothing wrong with a sleeve! It makes a good repair of done properly. No worries. Some folks frown on it,I like it because you can save a good block.

Question, why did this block require a sleeve?

That must be a good one.

Yea it’s a 383hp 335hp with the 2892093(440hp transmission usually from factory) matching numbers transmission. Best 383 available back then. The transmission alone is worth 750 as a 1968 model usually 440 transmission in alittle better shape I’d say. The transmission would go perfect with the 1968 440hp but we don’t won’t to separate em.. The transmission is lock up also. Ive been spraying b blaster inside it every few weeks for months. My dad not that good at building automatic transmissions last one he built didn’t turn out well but we think to save costs we need to build it ourselves.
