What's it Worth 1969 Coronet on eBay

With less than 5 hours to go for my hotel reservation cancel window the Coronet sold. Seller said it went for asking price.

More than likely…..that was meant to be. What the hell , a lot of the fun is the hunt.

Well I was not going to pay asking price, so I'm glad it sold without my investment of time and travel. Happy the seller got his asking price.

It's obviously a great car, but at that price adding a headliner, Vintage Air, shipping, and the upholstery work I might as well be looking at cars in the low 40s.

Trying to stay within my budgets.

I got into a situation somewhat like this 10 years ago, when I looked at a '69 GTX I was considering cloning into the Demonstrator. Car was a factory A/C with a buckskin interior, console, power steering, power brakes. Car was original sheet metal with California history. Exterior was brown, I was planning to change it to Scorch Red to match the original. I had crunched the numbers, and figured I wouldn't be in bad shape if I could get the car for $35K or less. This was one of only two times I looked at a car offered by a dealer.

The car failed the magnet test on the passenger side. The entire quarter was filled with bondo, as well as the door and part of the fender. Factory A/C was present, but blew warm air. With this information, I rejected the dealer's asking price of $45k. They eventually sold it for the $35K I'd offered.

The Demonstrator fell into my lap seven years later. I got lucky. I got the real thing for way less money than it would have cost to create a facsimile. When you have specific wants in a Mopar, it's way cheaper if you can hold out for the closest match possible.

@Billccm here's a 69 droptop on BaT today. Only 2 hours left and out in Pennsylvania but at least it can add to your research. Current bid is $41k.
