Question: I have a 1969 Dodge Coronet built in St. Louis, I am trying to figure out its background. I have traced it back to 1984 when it was brought into Utah from: unknown. So my question is, if a car is built in St. Louis where would it most likely have been sold originally? (Ford has their DSO numbers) Do dodge owners have anyway to tell where their cars were sold Originally?? Thanks for any info!

If you don't have any order- or dealer documentation it's not possible to find out where the car was sold originally.

I'm looking for even the region that the car would have been sold in (to narrow down my state search) if it were built in St Louis was it only sold in the surrounding states? or would it be shipped to anywhere USA?? The Order number on the data plate is B27 122814. So it was built 27 Nov 68. (that's worse then a Friday build date it was the day before Thanksgiving 1968). Although I guess I'm wrong, She (the Coronet) is no turkey, and I am thankful for her......Lol

I would say that it would be a good chance that it stayed in the Midwest. My RR was built in st. Louis and I've had it for 25 years and I know it sat in the town I lived in for 8-10 years before that and was raced prior to being parked. You might have to send letters to each states DMV. But beings that it's an older car, I know iowa records don't go back that far unless you did a title search specifically.

Thanks! I'll have to do just that, Utah was helpful but they store the title info from that long ago on micro fish film so I guess I would have to search for more info in person? Or start a vin search via each Midwest state. Since my car isn't really rusty, and has air-conditioning, I should probably start with the non-snowy states....
