So, this is my 1970 Dodge Super Bee project that is going to be a bit slow moving as I am a full-time college student with too many classes. So far, the bodywork has mostly been done by me with the help of an autobody instructor with cool equipment like a spot welder. The engine (440 six pack) will be getting a rebuild as soon as I get starting funds from selling a 77 volare roadrunner so I look forward to that. Currently the car has no engine and when I got it there was a 383 under the hood but I have a date code correct (not numbers matching) 440 hp2 and the car vin says it had a 6 pack. As for spare parts I will not sell them because they aren't spare since I have 2 other 1970 coronets that were going to be parts cars that turned into projects after my Super Bee is done.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on having so many cars to choose from. Having the spares to draw from and also to use as reference on your main build will be invaluable. Look forward to the journey. :)
Welcome again from down under.
Glenn.

Welcome! Great project! Keep us posted as you progress.

Sweet. 6 pack and plum crazy, just fantastic. Is purple the original color? Still have the fender tag? I'd be curious to see it.

Sweet! Thanks

Nice projects. I have a question if you don't mind. I'm working on replacing the vinyl top. How do you get this particular trim piece removed? Do I have to remove the rear panels, window felts, and rear window?

So I have no clue honestly the vinyl top on my car peeled off and I haven't removed of the window trim yet because I haven't had the time to figure it out. (It's is going to become a serious project again this summer starting with the engine rebuild and getting it on the road.) The only piece of trim I removed so far was the trim between the side windows and the rear window which is clipped in and with outward negotiation thankfully they came out without problem.
Sorry I can't be much help with this.

Quick update:
Sometime this summer (after May 6th [when my classes end]) the engine will be getting a rebuild so I am getting things together and once the engine is back I (with help from family) will be trying to get the car moving and stopping under its own power.
The engine is a 1970 six pack engine but not numbers matching and is getting pulled out of a 1976 dodge aspen (that is getting a 383 replacement) and because it would not fit in the aspen the engine was separated from the six pack intake which took me a while to find.
(pre rebuild start in the aspen[I'm the camera man because I don't know a lot about old car mechanicals yet])

Minor update
I am mostly figuring out what I have right now but this summer (June-ish) things will happen (engine rebuild, transmission rebuild, suspension rebuild brakes redone with 11x3 drums and a new dana 60)

I WANT A 70 CORONET OR BEE SO BAD!!! Grew up riding in one and want one

I meant on the 440 block.

Thanks,

Jeff
I haven't seen it out of the 1976 aspen it's currently in and I don't have enough room to read the numbers but this summer it's coming out and I'll get the numbers off (and probably ask for help with them) but for now I will I trust my father that it was a six pack engine and it's not numbers matching to my car

I might be willing to sell the orange 318 car but not currently at a fair price because it is a good reference and parts car until my project is done
