1973 Plymouth Roadrunner

I have a 73 roadrunner 4 speed non console car. I am wanting to put a console in it, can anyone tell me if it will require a different shifter?

Was it originally a bucket seat car or bench seat? Shifter tunnel is located forward with bench seat car and from what I've been told console will not work in that position. That is how my car is set up now as I was wanting a console too and was told the tunnel would have to be moved back.
