Hello Mopar Immortals,
I have a situation with my non-tilt, AUTOMATIC (ON THE FLOOR) steering column. I can not re-install the c-clip after replacing the starter switch and, if u b so kind, tell me the order of components to re-assembly. Thank you kindly for any extra steps taken on my behalf.

Best advice is to get a the Chassis service manual, as there are several pages and diagrams showing disassembly and assembly of the column. Its the same process I followed when I completely rebuilt mine, and depending if you have taken out the steering shaft, it can be more complicated.

I assume you are talking about the upper shaft snap ring that goes on after you put the upper bearing housing on above the ignition housing section?

A couple of things.
If so, and you have removed the steering shaft, you need to make sure that it is inserted all the way in, and never hit your steering shaft with a hammer to get it into position or you will break the shear pins in the steering shaft, I learned the hard way. Also check that you have reinstalled the lock plate properly, above the ignition switch on the shaft, its backwards, things wont fit right. Also make sure the lock lever and lock housing are in flush. The bearing housing then goes on top of the lock housing, and it may need to be pressed on, so if this is where you are having issues, you will need to make sure again, its flush with the lock housing.

That's about all the detail I can provide without going through pages of step by step process.

Hope this helps
