1974 Roadrunner Re-Paint

I bought the last two from AMD, the rear lower quarter panels about 4 to 5 years ago and have no plans to make more since not enough of a market to sell. In addition, my 73 also has front fiberglass fenders which might be impossible to find in this day and age, I bought those about 30 years ago.
Your best bet is to repair out of metal, might be your only choice.
Nice looking car from those pictures, have fun with the project.

Wow thanks for this info. I ordered a 74 RR with 400 4spd manual steer heavy duty suspension blue with white interior bucket seats console car. Would love to find another like it. It got crushed after I sold it and got wrecked. I have never seen another like mine. You are making me glad I didn’t jump the gun on some that were similar but not the same because of lack of parts.

Was yours B5 blue? If so what color stripes did you go with?

And the torsion bar link is broken. We think the last shop who did terrible work took the car out and dogged on it the last day they had it when we told them stop working on the car and we are coming to get it. One of my mechanics customers who knew my car told my mechanic he saw the car broke down at the 7-11. When my mechanic went to get the car from the shop and take it to the new paint guy he said it was making noise from the rear that wasn’t there before. Well at least I could find those parts. It was the last one in stock.

It's amazing how much gets hidden under mud and paint, only to show up down the road. Good luck on your unexpected re-do.

That’s the real problem when dealing with rust. If it’s on the outside, it’s on the inside. Until you fully expose it, you can’t fix it. Hoping you are actively looking for other places that aren’t rusted thru currently that are rusting from the inside out. You don’t want to do this again in 2 years.
