I am looking at a 36,000 mile Roadrunner. The car is a 400/727 bucket seats console car. Numbers matching power train. Black on black with a red stripe. He calls it a survivor but it has has one repaint.

He started out at $30,000 now the price is up for negotiation.

I am going to look at it soon so I can see if it is as nice as he says.

Any thoughts on the price? Assuming it is what he says it it.
 
Probably worth half what hes asking.Underhood is messy among other things,30 k should buy a mint original in pristine shape with low miles
 
He has had it for sale for about four years. So hopefully he is open minded. I think $20 is as high as I would go

both are nice and the price doesn't seem out of line

you no the two that I posted earlier were some nice cars and priced you cant buy and build them for that and that black one I think I posted once before when some one was looking for a black on black , that guy called me this morning with that 75 RR ,he said he had a change of heart but if it changes he's got my number
 
If it's your thing, keep in mind that the '74 400 cars likely had less than a 400 production run.

Mine was a black/black/red stripe car (none of the ones you posted, although I'd love to know what happened to it).

As some said, depends on what you're willing to spend.
 
Without looking at the build plate I'd say $17-18k tops. Needs work and a lot of detailing to be nearer the $30k. For example:

K Frame mounts are shot, wiring looks very sub par, suspension? Brakes? Rear end? Sure Grip? Condition????
 
I saw a black all original 73 Road Runner GTX with less than 35k documented miles sell for $24,000 a year or so ago, and that car was definately top of the marque.

I think anyone who pays more than $11,000 for a nice 73/74 is the fabled fool who was just easilly parted from his money.

What did they paint it with, a brush?
 
30K is absolute top dollar for a MINT, LOADED 440 or 400 4 speed car.

ABSOLUTE.
