I am looking at buying a 64 valiant convertible for a sunday family cruiser and it has a 225 slant six in it with the push button automatic in it. I was wondering if a 273 would bolt up to the trans and how a about the enigine mounts, would they match up? I have never tinkered with any mopars that old. Thanks for any input.

V-8 and /6 take different bell housings so would need to find a small block tranny. 62-66 A-body did have the same K-frame for V-8 and /6 so just need to find a set of small block mounting brackets for 62-66 A-body. Also would need to change the center link on the steering to the V-8 drop style.

Glad you're going to a V8. I have a friend with a 66 Valiant who dropped over $2,000 into rebuilding and "hopping" up his /6, and now he realizes he pretty much wasted his money since he could have made a killer 318 or 360 for that much money.
