You guys must be all quite clever...I get confused and have to break out the paper and pencil when calculating in 'feet and inches, and how many perches to the acre....ounces, pounds, stones, ton....'
Life is much easier in Metric. Everything is done in 10's and 100's.
I know it's of French origin, and that it goes against all you teachings and upbringing, but man, life is so much less complicated with Metric.
I'm so glad I was born at the time when Pounds, Shilling and Pence were being phased out. The Brits still do all this weird crap with 12 pence to the shilling, 20 shillings to the pound....and the Horsey Crowd still talk in Guineas which is like the difference between miles and nautical miles.

My 10 cents worth, and I know I'll get **** slung at me now.... :D

You're right Kiwi - we don't know any better. I remember when we were kids and the scuttle was the U.S. Was Going to metric. Everyone was in a panic over the change. I don't know why but it never happened. At the time being young I was glad it never happened cause I didn't want to learn more math. I had enough trouble with what we have.
