I have a 1969 coronet with a 3 speed wiper motor. The motor gets hot to the touch when it has power to it. The grounding strap is grounded. It doesn't work obviously. I've changed the ballast resistor. Any ideas?

Your linkage is jammed up? Your wiper motor windings are shorting out? Should be blowing the fuse?

Disconnect the linkage from the motor and see if it runs freely. If so, you have a sticky or stuck linkage. If not, your motor needs rewinding.

I got the motor off finally, that was unpleasant. The first linkage is loose and the wipers are ceased. You guys are sharp! Any tips on freeing them? I gave them a little tug and no movement.

Nevermind, I got it! Thanks for the help!

You can and should replace the nylon bushes for the linkage. You can buy them at any parts store, or online. Good luck.

Ok thanks! I have a bigger problem now though, I broke the right hand side wiper pivot base. The left is free. Wouldn't happen to know of a place to fine one?
