383 hesitation at mid range rpms

That is what I thought at first, so I replaced dizzy and the mopar orange ECU box, I also tried to different coils and the same results. I have replaced almost everything except for the plug wires.

I would cheek the sparkplugs and wires. They will tell you a lot about whether it has been running lean or rich. Personally do not think you have at present a fuel problem.

Yeah I have been busy today and I am going back to my original thoughts, that this is some sort of electrical problem. Fuel pressure is good at 6.5 psi stock mech pump. So I think fuel is good, I went through the wiring and put another orange ECU in it. Adjusted the timing more and cleaned some of the connections up, checked again for a vacuum leak. All of this did nothing and the car goes down the road hesitates, spits sputters and then goes like a bat out of hell. Almost feel like something electrical and not fuel, cutting in and out because it only does this under load and not in neutral. Fuel pressure is good, could it be the coil, I have tried 2 different ones. I guess they both could be bad and what about something in the ignition of the car, not the ecu. I am about out of ideas and do not want to take it some where.

No intake, bee has the n96 ram-charger hood, not sure about the cam was told its the same as a stock one.

dizzy is brand new and the hold down is locked down tight. I am ready to put points back in it and give them a try. They never failed me like these mopar electronic ignitions have.

Chrysler's ecu box require a good ground to function correctly or it will overheat. I fought mine for a long time before figuring it out. Carried a points distributor in the trunk as well so I would not get stranded. Also have you checked the reluctor air gap brass feelers guage .010. Also check shaft end play. I know you stated it is a new dizy but air gap needs to stay constant. Check each lobe I have seen new bad ones.

Take your points dizzy and install a Pertronix Ignitor II with the matching coil,by pass the ballist resistor.I just did this to my 383 and the car runs the best it ever has.always had a miss sputter with the MP dizzy and orange box.and it was a cheap upgrade too.

You keep saying you checked the timing? What are you checking? Idle timing, total timing, all in RPM, Where's the vac line connected? How much timing is it pulling in and at what vac level?

Your issue is in the ignition system, call me or email me and I'll tell you where you should have your timing events and how to get there.
just search FBO Ignition in google
