Hey Cranky (I can't help picturing you as Dirty Harry),

The motor you describe is exactly the one I'm looking for. The question for me is: Can I do the same with a 383 stroker motor. As Rusty points out, I have a complete, working, stock, 383. If I buy a good stroker kit (MRL, Mancini, Muscle Motors) and turn it into a mild 496 (stroked 383 @ .040 over), with head work, will I have what you describe? The car has a 3.23 open diff. I can really put any ratio I want in when I change to a sure-grip, but, like you, I like long gears...

BTW, how do I know what heads are on my 383?

Thanks
