413 parts compatibility

I am hoping to soon own a 64 Polara that the current owner says has a 413 from a low mileage motor home with a set of "440 906" heads installed. I have a lot of pie in the sky ideas for this car....doesnt everyone? If I wanted an aluminum intake, is this combo compatible with 383-440 parts?

Except for the smaller bore, that motor is basically a 440. So everything but pistons are a direct fit.

FYI - my car came with a 413 out of a low mileage RV. Compression ratio was a tad under 8. Do yourself a favor and add some boost.

Intakes are different for 383-400 (narrower). 413-426-440 are a little wider, but aftermarket and used original are plentiful for both. Most external parts are the same for all from 383 on up, such as heads, valve covers, oil pans, front of motor items, etc. But there are differences between the low deck "B" engines and your raised deck "RB" 413.

You guys are up early for a Sunday. Thanks. I now know what a B and an RB motor is and that the 413 is a small bore 440. Adding boost is not likely even though it would be a lot of fun. Is there a smaller chambered head that could help raise compression? Is decking an RB motor a possibility?

Yes, and yes.

Stock '915's if HP type are good and closed chambered. You have some lower cost aftermarket choices available these days. If you rebuild it, the machine shop will square and deck the block. Also, the right piston selection at that point will make your engine anything you'd like it to be, from mild to wild. Send us some pix, if you get the car.
