Hi All, I'm wondering if anyone has modified the Edelbrock 6-Pack dual plane manifold to remove the heat passage so it can fit with a flat Valley plate instead of the recessed gasket pan style?
I'm going to port match and tweak the manifold but would like to run the MRE Hughes Valley plate kit from Mancini
MRE - Hughes Engines - 1 Piece Valley Plate Kit
The heat passage sits low but isnt needed with my Trickflow 240 heads anyway.
I want something that looks nice and won't leak!

Watching this one....I'm thinking there's going to be some cutting and rewelding.....?

I was gifted this manifold as you see it.
It was a failed attempt at a concealed nitrous system (not by me)
I have considered a set of Chinese 4412 knockoff carbs for this (there is no way I'm paying real holley carb prices!) but for all the work and money that would be involved, even with dirt cheap chinese carbs, (basically for eyewash) I simply can't justify the expense, since I don't believe it would perform any better than a modern single four manifold and 850 dp, that I already have.

This particular manifold would definitely need some work, besides fixing the extraneous holes.
It has some pretty awful core shift under the carbs, carb throats aren't round, port openings are horrendous. .
But fixing all of that is part of decent prep, so no big deal, I guess.

Yes, just like that I guess! Thanks.

More basic fix than I envisaged. Don't need the sneaky nitrous ports but that would certainly allow me to use the MRE Valley cover...

I can't see any downside to this except for potential resale in future which I don't care about.
I'll look into that mod and update shortly.
If this manifold were used with iron heads, some sort of block-off would would have to be fashioned. On an aluminum head, all that would be needed is to plug the nitrous holes.

You could just use the Felpro gasket with exhaust port blocked.

Removing the crossover chamber with those heads is very doable. Go for it, but i'd do a clean cut and save the removed piece in case you want to weld it back on for iron head use.
