Just curious to know everyone's thoughts here.

What is a good high end/low end price on an early 70's RB 440 engine, in good working order, complete with accessories (minus a/c)?

Thank you for your time!

I just paid 500 for a complete running 75 truck block and auto tranny, I feel I got a pretty good deal. I see them on craigslist often in the 900 range for just an engine.

Dang...I need to REthink my pricing. I have a great running 440 I offered to a buddy for far less!

Around here, $400-600, for a runner, I see them on craigslist for more, but they reappear every month, as they don't sell....

prices are the same 'round these parts too, 400-500 complete, every so often you'll have someone with a pipe dream that'll ask $1,000+

I paid $300 for a 1972 HP block with MP valve covers, hi-torque starter, purple cam and lifter set, and single wire distributor. And that was with a 727 trans. It had a bad rod journal that I had to get redone, but otherwise was in great shape. I've been seeing lots of early 70s runners with transmissions that come out of mobile homes listed at $300-$400, but they aren't selling.

Thank you all for your input! I've learned a lot.
