Just got my dads motor together, any guesses in what it will make?
440 .30 over
10.7:1
440 source stock stroke rotating assembly
Hughes 621/626 260/264 solid cam
Cnc stealth heads
440 source 1.6 rockers
Victor intake
Holley 850dp
580hp?

Who's tuning it and what octane fuel? Could make a huge difference in numbers...

Well, I can give you something to compare:
Kofels Place (performance engine shop) would use a standard stroke 440 with the MP 590 solid cam, ported cast iron heads, single plane intake TM7, Holley carb and make just over 600hp.
Now do the math,,,, In your case, better heads, Bigger camshaft, Better intake, 1.6 ratio rockers.... YOU WIN.... LOL!
I was at their shop buying my camshaft and a case of oil one day... I explained my engine components, and Dave told me about the combination I listed above....

I can agree Kofels may get 600 hp out of that combo but I dont think the average shop would. I guess depending on the head porting but I think thats about a 550 hp combo out of most shops. My guess with the posters eng would be around 580 hp but I would like to see it dyno'd to see if I am close. Ron

well it will be a 93 octane motor for street but when raced it will be mixed with cam 2,
as for tuning i will be tuning it, along with help from some of my long time racer buddies. the car will be going to the chassis dyno when its in and ready to go. that will be mcnews dyno in dillsberg PA. they are some pretty knowledgeable guys as well
