I already had a thread on here about a carb question,so for a say 550 to 600 hp car should i run a dual plane or single plane intake manifold? Im looking at edelbrock intakes with a holley carb,If i run a dual plane i can run a bigger carb but what cfm carb should i look into?

There is a formula for calculating carb CFM based on CI and volumetric efficiency that you can find on the web. Also, this is a good book for auto formulas if you want to study the basics http://www.amazon.com/Auto-Math-Handbook-John-Lawlor/dp/1557880204 All components of the engine should work together to tune the engine for max power at a specific RPM. Some dual planes are too restrictive for big cams and I think that's why the free flowing air gap type intakes came out. They are just trying to blend the classic dual plane with the classic single plane.
