:head_smack: I wasn't paying attention to notice those were two different motors, both of which have right side water pump housings. From cosmetics alone I would guess the top one is steel, and the bottom one is cast
That's what i thought...i read it in a post on here or fabo, thin balancer is supposed to be a steel crank, THATS the one i was going to use, good choice?
I thought you didn't see there were two motors....The other motor has the thick balancer......gonna try and tear it down this weekend
ok, so teardown is about done...found water sitting on top of two pistons, one each side. Doesn't look to have caused any damage though. Block is very clean for an unknown, and heads are just as nice...both of these 440s are extremely clean....guess it pays to get a low mileage M/H engine !!
Anyway, my question is..which of these heads are the better ones to use. Daily driver, good sized cam, most likely edelbrock intake, not sure of carb...
here's the info on both sets i have:1)3462346..71-73 '346' 81.95cc
And.....2)4006452..76-78 '452' 81.5cc
just want to get some opinions here because i'm not wanting to spend a ton of money on heads, and i'm not expecting race car performance, just some decent horsepower...whatcha think??
