Halibrand MAGNESIUM mags? Indy car wheels, with a bolt pattern added?
(They sure weren't selling DeSoto's in 1962.)

They were likely still servicing DeSoto's (only dead a year). Up here in Canada, it was split up Chrysler/Plymouth, and Dodge/DeSoto. My Dad's cousin ran a Dodge/DeSoto store up here in Tillsonburg, Ontario. After Desoto was cancelled, the Dodge business was given to the Chrysler/Plymouth store across town. Without Mopars to sell, the dealership became a Studebaker/Mercedes-Benz store. When Studebaker ceased operations in 1966, the dealership started selling AMC. The family joke was, how did he miss out on Edsel??

@33 IMP , those rims are very very early american's a palametti's design for indy and sprint cars , in 18'' 4 1/2's in 4 1/2 bc fronts , and 6 1/2's in 4 1/2 bc on the rears . man i'll tell you what , these tires are 3/4 thick through the sidewall , and tuff as nails to remove . it turn two big guys (240 lbs) each to remove them and about three hours of hard labor with liquid soap to get those tires to move . after all those tires hadn't been off since 62 , and those tires are 400 plus mph tires . oh ya those rims are so rare there is only 12 in the world we know about . i know another guy with them on his 32 duce roadster . i'll post some pics of them here . look at the torq thrust window , it's the same shape . and here's the godfather of those rims and much much more .
