Hello all, i recently sold my A body BB dart... so i was kicked out of A bodies only for doing that...soooooooooooo my next love would be a 63 fury... but good luck n finding one for the price i want....i do have a guy nearby that has a nasty 62 fury with a roller 440 eagle crank..blah blah blah.... dana 60 with 456. The thing is a 10 second 1/4 mile car in street trim.... .. love the body style, it will need carpet and just rear wheel lip replacements.... other than that it needs some sprucing up here and there. solid as can be.......soooooo here is my dilemma..... that nasty mean 440 with the big roller cam.....can roller motors have street manners? is it going to be a pain to use the car on the street and it should be left for the next guy who wants to terrorize other street cars or cars at the track... or for 8k am i being an idiot and need to grab it up due to the ridiculously low price.... nothing wrong with it other than stated.....needing carpet and the lip repair panels....Many have asked for photos...i am owrking on that for the 62 the 64 polara is as pictured... man owned and cant drive anymore sold to guy that is now selling.... lol ugly carpet again but all else is good.. mild 440 etc.... sooo the question is... tame and manners or mean and nasty!!!??

Personally! I think the better choice would be the 64 Polara If you plan on doing a lot of cruising!

yeah if its as clean and straight as it looks...the 64 might be the way to go....but... how many 62 furys do you see.... and ones with dana 60's and do 10s.... this is the dilemma...maybe i should go rat rod and forsake mopars this go round...

couldn't you buy the 62 put a milder cam in it and have a fast street car. Or is the compression to high?

good question... i need to find that out also... i was thinking the same thing, hell the dana in the car is what keep drawing me too it..heres a pic of the 62 he just sent it

yeah and have to change the 456 gears out....

the idea is to have a second car to drive to work 35 mi one way in case my wife needs the honda... the 62 would be a very fast way to work... but in thinking the 456 would amount to what 4500 rpm at 55 on the hiway.lol

From the pictures, looks like the polara is closer to being done, but after a gear, converter and probably some engine work, what would you be all in for? Might make sense to look to trade the motor (and possibly the trans) for a more mild combo?

i like 62's but i'd do the 64. personally, i'm over the big cam rumblers you can't drive anywhere.

same way................ the rational side of me says stay away from the radical but love the dana 60 and body style of 62...... the 62 i can have for 8k the selling point of its engine is also the bottom end new eagle 8 bolt.... etc.

If you don't want the 64 let me know.

To me, the Dana is irrelevant unless you plan to race it. In fact, it might be a negative because it's a royal pain to swap those 4.56's, whereas an 8-3/4 you can swap out the center section before lunch.

Looking more closely at the picture of the 64, is the paint on the hood/ frontend all beat up, or is it just the photo?

Also, looks like the picture of the 64 is taken at the track - how many passes are on that drivetrain?

its the pic car is straight.... old guy had it not a race track car i see the hood pins and nhra sticker.. dont think as old as the owner before this guy was hit the track much.... NC doesnt have many.. ones that are here are 1/8 mile in his area... not beaten on anyone interested the 1964 number is 919 674 5967 i would like a 39 dollar finders fee if anyone here buys that car!

if anyone here ends up with it please post the results on this thread like to hear about it..im not going to drive 3.5 hrs to see it... from the sounds of it may be a sight unseen buy potential...
