64 Dodge Backup Light Wiring & Info

Hello, for a 64 Dodge 330 with manual transmission- I’m looking for a backup lamp harness from the transmission to the bulkhead (or wherever it goes, I am not familiar with this part). I have the transmission backup switch.

Or if you have any info on this piece, please let me know. Thanks!

Would it even be more than one wire?

The switch on the tranny has two connections, and from that point I have no idea.

Brewers Performance sells them for later 68-74's and there are definitely a few wires involved. Worst case I just figure it out and make it I guess.

Seems like you'd have to go with power to one and then to back up lights from the other terminal. I have a service manual but I'll be darn if I can find anything on this. :edgy:

Yeah my manual only has the auto trans diagram using a neutral safety switch and the starter relay... manual tranny models seem to just go into the bulkhead and activate the reverse lights which is totally different.

I had a '64 Belvedere 4 speed. I just ran the 2 wires from the bulkhead connector, shown in the previous diagram, to the switch at the transmission. I taped them with black electrical tape. It looked stock, and worked fine.

I just found it on my manual. For a manual transmission you should run an 18 gauge black w/ white tracer wire from each terminal on switch to # 6 & 7 terminal on the bulkhead connector.
