65 Dodge A/FX build

You could track this one down...

I can let you know who has what at Carslile this year. Let me know what info or pics you need. Sometimes they show sometimes they don't. York U.S. 30 reunion always had the originals there. Check out my Photo Garage.

Does anybody know where I could get a look at one of the 12 original A/FX cars?
Try finding Mike Guffey in Hartford City, IN. He had Landy's Dodge, Yankee Peddler and at least 2 more of the original factory cars going on 20 years ago. Oh I just did an internet search and found this. https://www.guffeystuff.com/

I know exactly where these cars were stored in an unmarked building but that was a long long time ago. I drove through Hartford City in March this year and there was at least one car trailer sitting outside that building. Who knows?

I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or sincere, but yeah. Hoarders of any kind are a coin-toss; either really cool or really out there. I've never met or talked to him so it could be either way from my perspective. Anyway, I hope he could help you since he's bought and sold probably half of those original cars.

I also am working on an AWB car. Yours is way farther along than mine but I do have the grille done for mine. It's a start.

Rick, I sooooo love it! Man, so so so much work & you’re sure gonna have one sweet ride!
Congrats on your tenacity to ‘get the job done’!!! You gonna drive it in the MI winters, too? Scott

Been looking for some good studded snow tires for the A/FX they are kind of hard to find

Struck out at Chryslers@Carslile. Only one post that the Ramchargers brought...

I was at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in Pa. and they have a Dick Landy on display. (post) Man they had that sitting high in the rear!

Then at a local car show a guy had one that he built. Drives it everywhere!

We can make you up some 10" wide pie crust slicks if you need them up there in Mich. Ice racers make their own.

Getting back after the A/FX project. Have the new firewall installed. Got the new inner fender panels in and the torsion bar mounts mounted.

OK here we go getting ready to move the rear end forward should have it done by Saturday. Have the body welded to the chassi table and now the back half of the body welded to a slide. Pop some welds cut the rockers and slid the wheel housing forward 15 inches.

got the rear end moved everything went perfect. Got the new floor pan fit. Kind of hurts to cut up a brand new floor pan to make it work for a AWB. Now just weld her in for good

I did EXACTLY THE SAME PROCEDURE back during the winter of 1966 in the back room of my speed shop. I had called the guys up in Chicago and they charged $2500 to alter the wheelbase (lot of money in 1966) so I decided to do it myself. It went just fine.
Then later I installed a CAE tube front axle with 1940 Ford Spindles and set the engine back 26" and put it on Hilborns and Nitromethane to go Match Racing.
PS; I admire your work...it is a lot more professional that the job I did and I can't wait to see it finished....GOOD JOB

Found a swt of original Jere Stahl headers for my AFX, Test fitted them tonight adn they wont work. Everything fit fine except the collector runs into the new torsion bar mount. Looks like we are going to have to make our headers.
