66 belv rear drum assembly swap to 10x2.5 help please!

hi guys! after months of searching, original 10x2 drum and 1x3/4 shoes are non existing on this planet anymore and i've decided to swap to 10x2.5 everything from the drum to backing plate,

has anyone swapped the whole assembly before and can give me some tips and tricks for the job?

this is for the rear of my 66 belvedere slant six sedan manual brakes,


does the rear axle have to be pulled out in order to remove backing plate? and crack open the diff cover?

Disassembly will vary depending upon the type axle housing. All will need the axles removed, but some will not require housing covers to be removed to remove axles.

not worth it on that 7.25 axle. get a 8.25 and that will come with larger brakes already.
