66 Belvedere I 2dr sedan gets put out.....

What a happy ending! Shes gone and you got to keep that car!
(wiping a tear from my eye)
I needed a good story this morning

I love those, awesome you share it here with us @Cranky !

How the heck did you manage to shave that 420lbs off…even still with AC ?!?
First off, I took it to the track and got rewarded with a mid 22 second pass, a terrible 60' and very lousy light so went to work on that. Got rid of the stock hood and went with light weight fiberglass and dropped the front bumper. Got rid of the muffler (straight pipes have always been something I do), did a good tune etc and scrubbed off nearly 2 seconds. Next, the undercoating came off and it was flat out full of it. Paint job sucked too and found that it had multiple repaints and starting to lift so I razor bladed it off. That filled up 2 five gallon pails.

Next was interior....factory rubber mat came out along with the trunk mat. Both was junk anyways. Rear seat was the next thing to go along with the junk headliner. Then the doors got hole punched, quarter window regulators came out and windows fixed closed. A pair of mid 70's 'A' body bucket seats replaced the junk bench seat. Didn't weigh them for a difference but probably wouldn't remember what it was anyways lol.

Ended up running consistent ET's with great RT's and the only suspension mods were decent shocks and clamping the front segments of the leaf springs.
