I am restoring a 1966 Belvedere Sedan with a 383 Automatic.
A couple questions.

1. I put in a new speedometer cable, came with two clamps 1 goes on the frame rail but the other came with a sheet metal screw, where does that go?
2. On the accelerator cable there's a gromet and seal on the pedal bracket. Was there ever a firewall gromet? and if there is I can't seem to locate one.

Appreciate the help

Hi Art,
I recently replaced an accelerator cable on my 66 Satellite. I believe it was original but may not have been. There was no grommet on the firewall side, but there was a foam type seal in there that fell apart when I pulled the old cable out. Photo attached of engine bay view and of old cable.

I replaced it with a Lokar cable and used a large washer on the firewall side to ensure no fumes could enter the cabin.

Not sure on the speedo cable question.
