Looking for a recommendation. I’m traveling 800 miles to look at a car next week. I have the Vin number, so I wanted to check the report like you would do with a Carfax for a modern car. Any recommendations as to where to get a legitimate Vin check for a classic car?

Hmmm, I would say just go to your local DMV and have them check the vin to make sure it's OK. I don't know if they can actually tell you the owners name, but if you have it, they might be able to tell you if it's correct or not.
