66 coronet original 4 sp big block dana 60 car..... better get it before its gone....

I know 67's did if 4 speed behind 440 ... this car probably didn't have that originally unless it was an option in 66 but others probably know more

1966 Dodge Coronet 440, 383 factory 4 speed. This one will not last long.

This car is virtually rust free. Floor pans and trunk are solid and original. the paint is 80% original. So here are the specifics:
New Clutch, pressure plate, throw out, bell housing, clutch linkage, new tires, American 15x8 wheels, new brakes all around, master cylinder, brake lines, gas tank, battery and cables, new Holley 600 carb, This car is one of only 1300 made in this configuration.
Full tune up on engine, plugs, points, rotor, wires, plugs, distributor cap. Engine sprayed original turquoise color, have factory air cleaner even though it is not shown.

It has a huge pumpkin and a posi rear end bigger than standard 8 3/4. I think it is a dana 60.

Bench seat. interior shows well but needs cleaning.

What it needs: Radiator boiled out or replaced, pipes and mufflers, I have the ones that came off of it cleaning, a good wash and wax and you have a very nice muscle car that will turn heads. or paint to suit. Headliner will need repair.

I am selling because I have too many projects. Price in non negotiable and this will not last long. I am not broke or in need of money so don't try to low ball as I wont bite. This is one of the nicest unmolested 1966 coronets I have seen in years. Originally a Georgia car. I would say it is 95% completely restored except for a good paint job. If I were to keep it I would not paint it but that is just me.

If it a real 383 car it did not come with a Dana.

maybe i should drive up and look... if they know its NOT a 8 3/4 and its bigger... then it MUST be a dana 60... unless... some idiot put a ford 9. worth the money for sure though....

now... never say never.... anyone could pay for the option...special order right? so it IS possible....I texted and asked a bunch of ??? he said his friend knows rears and its a dana 60 in his opinion... take it for whats its worth... or email and ask for pics if interested.... i wouldnt mind the car... but it would blow my 8k budget i am trying to strictly hold myself to for my next ride.

Could be an 8 1/4.
Nice paintjob under the hood. LOL

nice color of paint on your cars... love silver.....did you see the 68 hemi cuda on ebay?

auction company found in an estate building.... nice find check it out......http://www.ebay.com/itm/301797473175?_trksid=p2060353.m1431.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Thanks.

They didn't even remove the hood bumpers to paint under the hood. That's really lazy and amateur. I'm sure the rest of the work is of the same quality.

did they even come with dana 60's?

Yes, if it had a Hemi and a four-speed. It was optional with the Hemi automatic in '66, and could be had with a 383, if the right box were checked on the order form.

come to think of it... they didnt use 8 1/4 in b bodies in 66..... the man is flipping the car from what i can tell from the ad....for the price a BB 4 sp car.. 10500 is a good deal...IMO

Might not be the original rear-end. It looks like a lip-sticked pig. I looked at a much nicer car for a member on this board, which he bought for 1.5K more.

"in his opinion" "I think" ....all tell signs that they want YOU a buyer to believe it is. In the case where an issue arises I guarantee the answer will be "I was told...." IF the friend is this very knowledgeable builder of rear gears....he would be specific and state FACT about the dana 60 NOT "in my opinion".

I think the thread creator said it best "he's a flipper" Buyer BEWARE!

ok sad news..... dont know how..dont know why... but it has a corporate rear....how is that possible... thought the rule of thumd was b bodies all have 8 3/4?

this is sad.. very sad.... please accept my apologies for posting junk.....

Then that would make me wonder if it were even a 383 to begin with.!!

V8 cars in 67 usually had the 8 3/4 unless it was a Hemi. Not positive but I think the Dana was an option in that year with an automatic and was standard with the stick. I'm not up on them like I am with the E body in the Hemi department where it was like that. The /6 B body cars came with the 7 1/4 rear.

What does 'corporate' mean?

If the axle is the worst thing wrong, that's a pretty easy fix.

The pics of the engine bay don't look too bad. Replacing hood bumpers is pretty easy too.

They did remove the wiper motor, a lot of folks don't even do that

9.25" ala truck or 73-74 B-body. I wish like hell my silver '66 was a 4-speed. Maybe one of these days I'll get bored and hack it up. Looks like it would be a fun driver with some detailing (underhood, lol here too) and some TLC. Wonder if it is a bench seat and what the shifter looks like?
