Doesn't seem to be a lot of data out there on pre-68 440s when it comes to lifters. Comp has a footnote that pre-68 gets a 824 hydraulic lifter vs 822. Looking at specs, it looks like the pre 68 lifter is longer .1". My engine has an old Erson 140H cam with aftermarket lifters and pushrods. These lifters are the short ones, or 68 and later ones.
I assume the difference between the two might be pushrod length.
Do I keep the short style lifters or go back to the long ones? These pushrods are non oiling, no hole. Should I replace them too? What is the stock length pushrod for a 67 HP 440?
Engine is a stock rebuild. Thx!
