67 belvd. quarter panel fix,where to start ?

I have a bad quarter panel that has been badly repaired and need to start from scratch but don,t know where I should start.I need these 2 patch panels but don,t know if I should keep the small panel and cut the bigger panel to fit or other way around.Pics of your repair jobs would be nice

A good rule of thumb is to use as much original metal as you possibly can.

I learned the hard way about cutting too much on my driver side. Then I only cut what was needed on the pass side. Much easier and straighter as well. You can use even less than I did here. Now.......I'm not saying this is the right way, just the way I did it!
